Our Cooperative Model

Every cooperative is a quiet rebellion against the idea that success must come at someone else’s expense. We rise by lifting each other. 🤝

Founded in 2020 and based in the Bronx and Kingston, NY, Mi(crogreens) Oh My(celium) Farms is a worker-owned cooperative, dedicated to revolutionizing the way we think about our health, the health of the planet, urban farming and education.  Through our innovative hydroponic farming techniques and comprehensive educational programs, we aim to empower individuals and communities to grow their own healthy food and renew their connection to nature. Our commitment to health and wellness, community empowerment, and education drives everything we do.

Our worker cooperative is operated by a diverse set of individuals with skills and passions that synchronize with the vision of the organization. As a worker-owned, democratically controlled business, we are able to prioritize what is best for our members and our community. We believe socially responsible, sustainable food production has the power to influence us on a nutritional, environmental and economic level. In 2024 we moved our urban farm from a co-op apartment buildings to the South Bronx’s Banana Kelly location.

We will continue to grow our K-12 curriculum and course offerings, work and train more teaching farms so we can empower our future farmers. By utilizing S.T.E.A.M. education techniques and project based learning curriculum we plan to serve hundreds of schools and thousands of students.

Our services to the local Bronx community include our Microgreens/Mushrooms Farm Share and CSA, superfood cultivation works and opportunities for the South Bronx community to steward the Banana Kelly garden.
